Product Description
MacRepeater allows two fast and easy ways to expand your home or office network with new or larger wireless zones. Plug MacRepeater into a wall outlet at the limit of your wireless networks range and it will pickup and rebroadcast your wireless signal creating a larger wireless network.
MacRepeater can also be installed outside your current wireless network by running a cable to it, allowing you to create new wireless zones. Multiple access points can be added by using more than one MacRepeater. Multiple access points can be used to provide complete wireless access throughout even the largest home or office or just to organize traffic and reduce bottlenecks that can result from multiple users or high traffic video devices using the same wireless access point.
Operating at the signal level, MacRepeater is compatible with almost any device that uses WiFi. MacRepeater can expand your network to allow Macintosh, PC, iPad, TiVo, or almost any wireless device to reach your wireless source. MacRepeater supports the latest (2.0) 802.11n WiFi standard as well as older standards like 802.11g (54 Mbit/s) and 802.11b (11 Mbit/s) which means it can work with older or newer wireless routers from almost any manufacturer and can even be used to add wireless to older routers that do not have built in wireless.
Installation is fast and simple. Use the included RJ-45 cable to connect your MacRepeater to a Macintosh or PC computer and type the address listed on the repeater into a web browser. A web page opens that allows you to use a wizard to setup MacRepeater with a few simple choices or provides you with detailed control of the device for more advanced configuration options. Because MacRepeater uses a web interface rather than PC software to change settings there is no software to worry about losing and any computer with an Ethernet port can be used to change settings.

I bought this to boost the wifi signal at my house as we would frequently have weak reception at one end. This repeater is easy to set up and there are no major problems getting it working with my Apple AirPort Extreme Router. The problem is that the unit does not maintain a signal consistently. It seems to cut in and out at random times and frequently I think I am working thru the repeater only to find my device has switched back to the main router. When this is working it works fine but its random consistency makes it somewhat problematic. Given its low cost it is fine but I'd pay a few dollars more if it would guarantee a more stable product. Also, be aware that all signal boosters of this nature, regardless of brand will reduce your throughput speed. My incoming connection is 50 Mps but thru the Apple Router speed drops to 25 -30 Mps and thru the signal booster it drops to between 10-15 Mps.

A friend suggested this and amazing. I could not get a signal in the bedroom and now it's like magic. Extends the coverage. No need to call the cable company. It picked up my wireless router signal and wow I am connected in the far corner of the house. For not much money

The Macrepeater seems to be solving our problem in the house. The Mac airport router is in the basement at one end, so we always had trouble at the other end of the house on the 1st and 2nd floors. I had some trouble setting it up, and called their tech support. I got a real person who was very helpful! This was a pleasant experience. He helped me get it set up.The repeater was still a bit cranky, but it seems to work fine after I moved it from an outlet on an outside wall to one on an inside wall. There are a lot of routers ithe neighborhood, so I don't know if it's possible that there was interference (?).Over alll, I'm happy.
