The High Power 600mW Compact Wi-Fi Range Extender expands the range of any 802.11b/g/n wireless network by repeating the signal from a wireless router and redistributing it in a new "extended" location. The REC10 is equipped with advanced dual 600mW amplifiers and a high gain 2dBi detachable antenna to extend Wi-Fi coverage by a staggering 6,500 sq ft. Its elegant, plug-in design allows it to be discreetly installed within a home or office to provide Wi-Fi coverage for all your rooms and backyard. Enjoy the freedom of using your laptop, tablet or smartphone throughout your entire property. The Range Extender also includes a wired port for connecting and bridging an additional network device, such as a PC or TV, to your Wi-Fi network. We needed a boost to our wifi signal after moving our router to a new location. First we purchased a new 'long range' router that didn't improve anything for us. So we returned that, plugged our old router back in, bought this, plugged it in, walked through 5 mins of set ups...and poof... we have full strength signals in every single room of our 2400 sq ft house. Perfect answer and well worth the $!

After trying and failing to get a Linsys extender going I returned the Linsys and searched for another option. I read the reviews for the Amped REC10 on Amazon. They indicated the Amped was easily set up and worked well. I am a 64-yr old general user and I was able to set the Amped up by myself and it worked exactly as it was supposed to! Extended my range greatly and I am very pleased. I did call Tech Support later with a question about setting up security because with the extended range I wanted that part of my network protected even though my wi-fi is not secured. the Support Concierge walked me through what I needed to do. Couldn't be more happy with my Amped Extender!

The unit itself is quite small and not much of an eyesore like other wall attached units. I have a fairly big home and I am buying a second unit for my sons room so I can place the Roku in his room so daddy can watch the NFL draft. I mainly use this device simply for my iPad but what I like about it most is that its a complete wireless setup and very easy to configure. The only problem I can honestly say is about the reset button. The device has to be powered on for a reset, so I can see people having difficulties resetting with low placed outlets. What I did was just turn it upside down, wait 30 seconds for it to fully boot, then hold the factory reset for 10 seconds. Tech support was very helpful on answering any questions that I've had. Solid product and customer support. I would definitely recommend this product to others.
