Picks up signal, but does not improve reception.

I purchased this antenna under the assumption that it would be cheaply constructed and overly optimistic in it's claim of 16 dbi reception. What I got was was a large antenna that has the same reception as my little 5 dbi. I tested this antenna on my Alfa AWUSO36H 1KmW USB adapter.As an antenna with an SMA connector it works and will provide a signal roughly equivalent to a 5 dbi antenna, but my experience has not made the purchase worthwhile. Would not recommend.Also, the base is very cheaply made and the magnet glued to the inside isn't strong enough to hold the antenna to the side of my fridge. Very weak base.
