Maximum 1,200 Feet Range
BearExtender PC has a maximum range of up to 1,200 feet. BearExtender technology combines a proprietary high sensitivity receiver with a powerful 700 mW transmitter for long range Wi-Fi at an affordable price. 700 mW is 2-4 timex the power of built-in internal Wi-Fi cards. An external antenna cuts through interference and can be upgraded easily for even longer range.
Designed for Windows
BearExtender was originally designed to help students at the University of California, Berkeley, connect to the campus wide Wi-Fi network called AirBears. Hence the name, BearExtender. BearExtender PC works with laptop and desktop computers running Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows 7, or Microsoft Windows 8.
High Speed 802.11n Wi-Fi
BearExtender PC is also a great way to add 802.11n wireless networking capability to an older Windows computer.
Upgradable RP-SMA Antenna Port
BearExtender PC has a RP-SMA antenna port and the antenna can be easily upgraded to a higher gain antenna, such as 5 dBi omnidirectional antennas, or 10 dBi flat panel directional antenna. Optional 16 feet USB Extension cable allows you to place BearExtender away from sources of interference for even higher signal gain.

After suffering with a less than adequate LinkSys Network Adapter, I bought a BearExtender and couldn't be more pleased. The installation was as seamless as possible. Just load the installation disk and follow the instructions which consisted of choosing your operating system and choosing BearExtender drivers. Press enter and you were done. The BearExtender came up with 5 bars and even managed to find another nearby network. It's an excellent product.

My RV is parked next to my house and while in my RV I was not able to connect to my WIFI network. Now with the BearExtender I consistently connect and stay connected with only about a 5% drop in download speed and 0% upload speed loss. I have used this product for almost a month now and I am completely happy with the BearExtender.

OK, I admit it... I "helped myself" to my neighbors' wifi account (why not, there's 6 signals flowing through my bedroom). Anyway, the signal was always Poor to say the least. I'm talking don't even brother slow. And I was considering an antenna that was about twice the price at e***, until I found this. Ordered on a Tuesday, arrived Thursday. Does it work? Let's just say i'm streaming a video on Youtube as i'm typing this review. Pages load quickly, videos are streaming easily. Exactly what I needed/looking for! Well worth the money, especially when, like I mentioned, there are similar products costing 2-3 times the price paid here. And installation couldn't be easier. I love it.
