I purchased this because it was a good price but admit I was skeptical as to how well it would perform. I noticed the reviews mentioning that the pigtail was only about 6" coming out of the back, so I was expecting that when I got it. I used the following cable with the antenna to connect to my Linksys WAP: N-Male to RP-TNC Plug 400 Series Assembly 10 ft. It's a thick cable, LMR-400 vs. the LMR-195 that's on the antenna itself, but IMO it's worth it and takes cable issues out of the equation.In summary, the antenna is performing flawlessly. I have it mounted on the side of a building (used 1 1/2" metal conduit mounted vertically and two brackets...works perfect with included hardware) and pointing toward a client WAP about 150ft away. Before the antenna, I had a signal strenth of around -87db and the connection was auto-negotiating to 18-24mbps. Just adding this antenna brought the signal up to -67 to -72db (with times in the mid -50's) and the connection is running at the full 54mbps. Network speed tests are also more consistant with less ups and downs.My setup is pretty ideal conditions...line-of-sight with nothing but a window in the way on the receiving end. But considering it doubled my connection speed and gave me a near perfect wireless signal at 150+ feet, I'm a very happy camper.

The pigtail is 12" long. It's just that only 6" extends outside of the unit. The other 6" runs inside the housing before connecting to the antenna proper. The pigtail connector is an N-female type. If you want to to connect this to an SMA wireless card as I did then you will need an RP-SMA Male to N Male connector. I got mine from JEFA Tech. If you're not sure what you need just call them. They are very fair on the shipping. Your combined shipping and product cost will be less than others if you do the calculations.This is an outdoor unit but I'm using mine indoors with a six foot cable, also from JEFA. Somewhat larger than a cantenna (which I have used the regular and the super) this YAGI pulls in way more signal for about the same price. If you mount the antenna outdoors remember to run a ground!

I used this antenna to hook up internet service from the pastors home to church on the same property. This antenna is broadcasting wifi to another antenna approx. 1200 ft away. Router, repeater, booster and 2 antenna's = $400.00 + change. Not bad for getting good quality internet service.
