The Bolse 300Mbps Wireless-N mini router is very compact 3"L x 2"W x1.5"H (not counting the prongs). When it is plugged into a standard 2 plug outlet, the second plug can be used by slim standard plugs. I am attaching a collage of 4 photos showing the plug on 1" gridded mat for size reference. Photos can be located by following 'customer photos' link under the main photo.It comes with a pretty good brochure that documents the set-up.As the first step I needed to change the ip address of the device so my local subnet would see it. This is done using WI FI interface.Once the IP address was changed I was able to connect to the router via web interface and change the configuration: password and the mode it functions in.The mini router has three modes (1) router access point, (2) bridge and (3) repeater. I also change the Band to 2.4GHz(N) which is the fastest speed my devices are capable of so it does not default to something slower.I ran Speedtest app from Speedtest.net from Nexus 7 and Samsung Galaxy 7.7 from different distance from the mini router. In combination with a mini router this gives him a very speedy connection in the part of the house that otherwise gets a poor connection.I received this mini router from manufacture for evaluation and review (be it positive or negative). My testing shows that this is a very capable router and less capable repeater. I think it will work very well in combination with powerline network adapter kit.Ali Julia review

The major features of this device are the inexpensive handy features of the Router, the Client, the Bridge, the Repeater, and the AP mode functions. A router allows devices to communicate with each other across different subnets like from your local area network to the internet. This feature is available on all routers. It is great If you are away from home or in a hotel or a Wi-Fi spot.However it is the other modes of this product that make it powerful and unique at a very low cost. The most noted modes are Repeater mode and Bridge mode. Bridge mode allows you to connect a device which is not wireless like an Xbox or other non-wireless device to your home router (another device you own) wirelessly. The best feature is the Repeater mode which allows you to wirelessly connect the Bolse device to your home internet router or someone else's (like in a hotel network or dorm) and re-share the signal from the Bolse device to everyone in you room (or hotel room/dorm).This device offers maximum flexibility of networking features for a minimal price and would I recommend this for tech savvy people. Understanding the networking functions is not for the average user and requires some understanding of basic networking. Basically, this product is really great and works as advertised. I was generously supplied this device for an honest review.

I can see this being useful in several situations, but for my own use, I am using this in Repeater Mode to extend my wireless signal (to my neighbor's condo at the moment). I can also see this being handy when I travel.My neighbor, 78 years old, has needed computer access for a number of medical reasons recently, but has no interest in buying a PC or learning how to use it at this stage in her life....so I have been helping her out using my laptop. However, my Valet router's signal didn't extend as far as I'd like in this instance.This mini router was easy to set-up thanks to the WPS button, I had it going in no time. I'm not good with measurements, but there is probably a distance of 50-75 feet between my Valet and my laptop when used in her condo. There are no other condo's or routers being used by others between us, so that may make a difference, our backyards are catty-cornered to one another.I haven't any reason to use this mini-router in the other ways it can be used; if I do, I will revise my review. Highly recommended and a good value.Note: This item was provided at no cost by the manufacturer.
