The Alfa AWUS036H is the latest version of the most powerful card available. This has a stunning 1000mW output power. So if you are looking for a device to connect to an outdoor 2.4 GHz antenna, such as on a boat or an RV, this is a perfect solution. It outperforms wireless cards that are built in to newer laptops. Adding this to your laptop or desktop computer will enhance range and signal quality at longer distances. And works with Win98SE/200/ME/XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux (kernel 2.6.6 and later) and Macintosh (OS version 10.4). And the necessary drivers for ALL of these operating systems are included on CD-ROM

Extremely long range wireless adapter

This is my second Alfa adapter, it is by far the most effective way I have found to connect a desktop computer to a wireless network.However, its performance is so good that it also makes a great supplementary adapter for laptops, allowing you to get a much stronger signal (transmit and receive) than with most laptop's internal WiFi adapter. In fact I find its performance comparable to the more expensive directional WiFi systems from H-Field and such.

My son's computer is now up and running after he had to do a factory reset. Nothing to do with this order but he is on line again, This receiver works great he is picking up signals from all over and can pick up places like the library without going there. It was great to see a smile back on his face. Now all I have to do is check my computer when I need his help. This is a great product I was surprised that it reaches out so far.

This product is everything you want it to be, and then some. Easy to set up in Windows, and even easier to set up in Linux. Actually this has become my main wireless adapter for even my desktop PC and am considering buying at least 1 more of them (To achieve what I originally got it for, portability.. Ever since I hooked it up to my desktop, I don't want to take it with me for my laptop anymore...) This product blows everything else I've ever even tried to use out of the water. I see many, many more networks, and have a strong constant signal with one that I had issues with in the past. I ordered this one in early May and received it early on the first day of the "Estimated ship date", and it's still alive and kicking strong. The only slight downside I've seen so far is that the unit gets quite warm after constant use, but nothing too hot and it hasn't been off since May.
