Product Description
The Linksys Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with RangeBooster is the simple way to add or upgrade wireless connectivity in your notebook computer. Just slide it into your notebook's PC Card slot and enjoy high-speed wireless network access while retaining true mobility. RangeBooster technology is a compatible add-on to standard Wireless-G which increases your wireless network's range up to two times, and its throughput by up to 35%. Unlike ordinary wireless technologies that are confused by signal reflections, RangeBooster uses two smart receivers at each end to detect and decode reflected signals at distances where standard technologies give up. You'll find that "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area are reduced, too. Unlike other range-enhancing technologies, RangeBooster is fully 802.11 compliant, and a "good neighbor" to other wireless devices and technologies, using a single 2.4GHz channel as specified by the official wireless standard. And with RangeBooster you'll see a range improvement even when running a mixed network of RangeBooster and regular Wireless-G devices. Once you're connected, you can keep in touch with your e-mail, access the Internet, and share files and other resources such as printers and network storage with other computers on the network, wherever you wander. You'll be able to connect with any of the growing number of public hotspots springing up in coffee shops, airport lounges, hotels and convention centers. At home, you can surf the web or use instant messaging to chat with friends while sitting out on the patio. Your wireless connection can be protected by powerful 128-bit WPA encryption. The included Setup Wizard will walk you through configuring the adapter to your network's settings, step by step. This may be good if you don't have an internal antanae, but it does not improve range.(period)

The self installing CD was a bust! After a few hours on the chatline...instructed to use Windows install and then it worked. No better than the Belcan card it replaced. Rangebooster is a joke!

Fast delivery from this suppler. Setup of this router seems to be a little difficult. Have a different version and I thought after the difficulty on the fist one the second one would be easier. NO it is not. Directions could be better.Jeff
